Wall/Desk decor

Hello crafty friends!

I hope you are having a great day. Have you played along Altenew’s latest link party? I was trying to make the dead line for June’s Inspiration challenge, but life happens and I could not finish on time, anyhow I was excited to be able to join the link party for the latest AECP blog hop : anything but a card, and here is my take:

I love macaws, their exuberant personality, playfulness and affectionate attitude make them unique in my book. I see them as a symbol of boldness whether it’s because of their colorful plumage or their overall personality, so when I saw this stamp I wanted to include it in a home decor piece and here it is. What do you think?

I hope you get a chance to play along or try something new!

Easy gift set

Hello craft world!

I hope you are enjoying your summer. Inspired by the lates AECP blog hop and in a much needed break from unpacking I decided to join in the link party: Anything but a card … and Altenew’s June inspiration challenge hosted by Tenia

Recently I tried to purge most of my craft stash, but I could not finish with my paper scraps. I donated half of it but still have a box full of scraps I would like to work through, what better way to tackle it than making tags and small gift bags right? So here is what I created:

I created a very simple bag with patterned paper and added the matching 🏷 as well as stamping the tissue paper to coordinate… The bag can be reused as it is very generic, just a change of tag and done!

Well, I could not resist making a card ☺️. I love this color palette as it can be used for anyone, so now I have this set ready to go! It was sort of a Xmas in June day for me as I opened and used several of the new to my stash #Altenew products …

I love #Altenew because they offer not only wonderful products but also plenty of inspiration on a daily basis. This card was also inspired by Nicole’s (@pmretreat) double embossing episode and her #4 sketch starter. Instead of embossing paste I chose stenciling over the embossed panel… I interpreted the background as a “duality” or as complementary elements . therefore I used two different textures… does it make sense to you?

Have you joined in the link party yet? I hope you do!

Believe in yourself

Hello crafty world!

I am here to share a one layer quick and easy card I created inspired by #Altenew ‘s Create and Inspire E-book #56 project #8 designed by the talented Erum and by Sketch Starters #22 by Nicole Watt.

I recently relocated and most of my craft stash is still being transported, therefore my supplies are limited. I only traveled with my alcohol markers, watercolors w/brushes, a few unopened stamp sets, an ink pad and an acrylic block, which creates the perfect setting to practice my coloring skills and challenge myself to create more with less.

For over a month I have wanted to color these pretty poppies but could not find the time during the moving process 🤷🏻‍♀️ So, yesterday while it was snowing around here, I decided to browse through the latest C&I book and saw Erum’s design ( which I have seen when the coloring video was released but totally forgot about casing it ☺️) I immediately got this Poppy Arrangement set out of the box and in a dejavú kind of moment realized that it fits Nicole’s Sketch Starters #22 if you flip it 180 degrees and mirror it, wouldn’t you say so or am I imagining things?

Anyhow, creating masks for this larger images is a breeze and the splatters add some dimension to an otherwise flat card. Being totally honest I kind of had Nicole’s tips in mind throughout the creating process, I just had watched her Running With Scissors Weekly live on You Tube ( watch the replay so you know what I am talking about) and remembered the technique she used today. I am nervous about messing my colored images so I went light on the smooshing technique 😅

Trust yourself. Create the kind of self you will be happy to live with all your live

Monogrammed, air dry clay coaster

Last week I was playing with air dry clay and I had some left over, enough for another coaster. I need to make the card to go with it but I wanted to post to be able to enter this as my 3rd entry for the Altenew’s Creativity Inspired challenge: Memorable Monograms. The color pallet comes from this months Inspiration Challenge

Different from my previous coaster project, the 3D pattern was “debossed” and I used a cookie cutter to cut the initial, truth to be told, I wanted to fill the cutout with resin and glitter, but it had already been packed 🤦🏻‍♀️ soooo, I had to fill the cavity with black moldable foam clay and glued it in place. I used Altenew Artist watercolor set and added a bit of sparkle with wink os Stella before sealing it with acrylic lacquer.

Monogram, faux beveled cards

Happy Sunday everyone,

I hope you had a chance to enjoy your weekend. I took a break from packing and tried to create something, an hour later here I am to share with you a couple of cards inspired by a couple of Altenew’s challenges: Memorable Monograms and March Inspiration.

For this card I used the Mega A die, the Time Warp stencil ( dry embossed), colored pencils and sheer metallic watercolors.

For the second card I used the Mega A die, the “Just Because” stamp set, gray ink, colored pencils and sheer metallic watercolors.

The “beveled” A was created tracing a few lines with a black permanente marker and ruler, then colored with pencils and finished it with a light watercolor shimmer . What do you think?do you like the beveled look on the big letter?

15 minute CAS card idea

If you are looking for quick and easy card ideas, this design is for you. I followed MFT’s current Sketch challenge and inspiration from their Slimline Card Challenge

The dry embossed area was created with one of MFT’s confetti stars stencils. The rest of the elements came from a Concord and 9th birthday stamp set.

I hope you find inspiration today to make your day a happy one, if it is not your birthday, live it as if it were, throw some sprinkles on it a celebrate you are alive!

15 minute card, Sweet Birthday

I promise myself to use up as many of my paper scraps as possible before the movers come in a couple of weeks. So I have decided to create card “sets” for my friends as a token of my appreciation. Once again, I am using MFT’s color challenge and Sketch Starters with Nicole.

And here is my take:

The formula was simple, (3) macaroons diecut from colored cardstock, colored with markers, a stamped sentiment, some stamped confetti, and you got a quick CAS card. For this card I used an older stamp set from Avery Elle.

I am also playing along MFT’s Birthday themed Slimline Card Challenge

Feliz Cumpleaños, 15 minute card

I have been on a roll, creating CAS cards out of my paper scraps stash. I am always happy to get a chance to participate in a few challenges, I chose MFT’s color challenge and Nicole’s Sketch Starters Challenge.

And here is my take:

I created the candles using MFT’s BB Alphabet & Numbers and the mini cupcake die-namics. Thanks for stopping by, find beauty in everything you do!

there is still time to play along MFT’s Slimline Card Challenge

15 minute card idea

I hope you had a wonderful weekend and that your week is off to a great start. I wanted to share another 15 minute card idea. I have been tackling my paper scraps stash and I am quite happy so far. I have been creating CAS designs which generally elude me. Once again I took MFT’s color challenge and Nicole’s Sketch Starters Challenge as my inspiration.

Once again my formula was simple: a few diecuts and a dry embossed panel it is all it took. I gotta keep on practicing my “icing” coloring, but you can skip that part and leave them as they come out of the die. I used the “‘Mini cupcake” die-namics set from MFT, the hand lettered “‘Happy Birthday” die from Simon Says Stamps and a Darice embossing strip from the “Birthday ”Trio. Arranged on an A2 card base in dark gray with some liquid glue and you got an easy birthday card.

Have a wonderful day!
